just wondering

If nirvana (the snuffing out of the self) is so great, how come there aren't more zen buddhists in office and/or library positions?

Alternatively, my own work experience has consisted primarily of office-type work, and yet, I am not a buddhist. In fact, mostly, I am just bored.

The Buddhist would say, of interminable and soul-crushing office work:

Nirvana is a nothingness one seeks.

To seek nothing is an anti-quest, a non-search.

You see, friend, you ARE a Buddhist by not trying to be one.
